The Arco floor lamp was designed in 1962 by Achille Castiglioni for Flos. The designer wanted to create a floor lamp that would be able to illuminate successfully different settings without the need for a fixed electrical output.
The Arco Lamp is utterly suitable for over a dining room table or coffee table in a living room.
The Arco Lamp is a work of art, as well as being immensely functional. The base is made from Carrara marble which comes from a quarry in the Italian Alps. Many of Michelangelo’s sculptures were fashioned from this stunning marble which is available in white or black. The base weighs approx 143lbs (65kg) and has a cleverly positioned hole through the middle so that it can be moved with the aid of a broom handle!
The curved stem of the Arco Lamp is made from stainless steel and it can be set at three different heights.
This modern floor lamp can be found in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York and has received numerous awards.
The design driven Flos lighting collection is the standard for architects and interior design professionals. The contemporary designs are the perfect compliment to any home and because the pieces are timeless purchasers will never tire of them.
